Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of our organization in Independence, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling day-to-day financial activities and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. This is an onsite role requiring strong expertise in financial reporting and analysis. Responsibilities: - Manage and execute month-end close processes to ensure accurate financial records. - Analyze financial statements to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. - Prepare comprehensive annual financial reports in compliance with regulatory standards. - Coordinate and oversee financial audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of audited statements. - Collaborate with staff and external parties to address financial matters effectively and maintain organizational alignment. - Monitor and control day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting. - Provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational goals and initiatives. - Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies in all financial activities. - Develop and implement efficient financial procedures and systems to optimize workflows. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial statement analysis. - Strong knowledge of annual financial reporting and compliance requirements. - Expertise in managing financial audits and preparing audited statements. - Familiarity with insurance or fraternal organizations is highly preferred. - Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail for financial data evaluation. - Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. - Proficiency in financial tools and software to streamline reporting and operations. - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
