Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) - Newfane, NY

Reports To: Program Director or Designee

Position Summary

Seeking for a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) who provides creative arts therapy services to individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment. The LCAT utilizes evidence-based and best-practice approaches to support recovery, emotional expression, and overall well-being across inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group creative arts therapy sessions to support emotional expression, self-awareness, coping skills, and personal growth.

  • Maintain an assigned caseload and deliver therapeutic services aligned with individualized treatment plans.

  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.

  • Conduct assessments, including risk and safety evaluations, and contribute to care planning and discharge planning.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team members to monitor client progress and coordinate services.

  • Develop and implement engaging creative arts therapy programs that address psychological, cognitive, social, and emotional needs.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and modify approaches as needed to meet treatment goals.

    Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy or related field

  • Active New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) credential

  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong therapeutic and assessment skills

  • Excellent documentation and organizational abilities

  • Client-centered and recovery-oriented approach

  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications
