Job Description

The New Business Ventures Deals & Development Manager will use demonstrated commercial and strategic planning skills, along with a network of global relationships, to support deal identification, development, negotiation, and execution across new business ventures within the Pacers Sports & Entertainment ecosystem.

Reporting to the AVP, Head of New Ventures & Development, this role requires commercial acumen, expertise in deal structures, strategic vision, and a devotion to tangible performance metrics that are proven to grow sports businesses. This role will deliver financial models, deal proposals, term sheets, letters of intent, bid submissions, and support longform agreements. The optimal candidate will leverage an understanding of industry wide revenue opportunities and polished communication skills to guide relevant stakeholders from initial conversations through deal execution. Simultaneously managing multiple deal flows with meticulous attention to detail, this role will support cross-functional collaboration, communicate priorities and deadlines to key stakeholders, and present agreements for review and approval by leadership.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Aid deal negotiations with new partners and providers by managing the deal flow process, developing external-facing proposals and presentations, and crafting competitive and compelling deal structures.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with businesses across the sports & entertainment industry to source new potential partners and investments.
  • Build financial models and develop operating structures for new global business lines and lead cross-functional collaboration across operational counterparts to deliver significant written and verbal work product.
  • Identify and negotiate unique deal structures across new equity investments, commercial real estate projects, and innovative partnerships solutions.
  • Pursue commercial arbitrage opportunities both in market and those that expand PS&E’s addressable market.
  • Record all significant contract details in standardized deal memo format and process due diligence submissions as required, including confirming executive-level approvals as needed.
  • Aid PS&E Legal in drafting and progressing longform agreements by compiling relevant deal terms, communicating commercial timelines, leveraging historical agreements where possible, and prioritizing agreements across deal flow as necessary.
  • Serve as cross-functional liaison to spearhead deal flow and pipeline between New Business Ventures, Legal, Partnerships, Business Intelligence, MarTech, and other departments as required.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience (including in deal structuring & negotiation and stakeholder management) at a top-tier traditional or real estate consulting firm, venture capital firm, entertainment entity, or investment bank required.
  • Experience in the sports, entertainment, real estate, venture, media, and/or technology industries preferred.
  • Network of domestic and international relationships with live sports and entertainment entities preferred.
  • Demonstrated quantitative, financial modeling, and project management skills.
  • Self-starter who is resourceful, results-driven, and has the proven ability to efficiently drive deal evaluation and execution from end to end.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to simplify complex problems and summarize expansive information into consolidated polished presentations and documents for senior leadership.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage many projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience working and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator and presenter, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced aptitude with all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Enterprising energy, integrity, and humility.
