Physician Assistant – Nocturnist – A.O. Fox Hospital

Overview:

Bassett Healthcare Network , a progressive, academic health system in central New York, a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide Nocturnist Hospitalist services for Bassett Healthcare Network in Oneonta, NY at A.O. Fox Hospital.

Description:

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated healthcare system that provides care and service to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school - based health centers, and health partners in related fields.

This Nocturnist Hospitalist position is located at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, NY. The community hospital is licensed for 53 med/surg beds. Subspecialty services are available in Cardiology, General Surgery, Infectious disease, Pulmonary, and Orthopedics, and a burgeoning telemedicine service including Psychiatry, Palliative Care, and Neurology. Bassett is an EPIC EMR Network.

Job Summary:

Join an established group of 18 Hospitalist Physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC).

Responsibilities:

• 155 shifts yearly; block schedule, typically 7 days on and 7 days off

1. Hours are 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
2. Opportunity for extra shifts at a premium rate
3. Responsible for admitting patients from the ED and nearby hospitals, fielding transfer calls, and cross-covering inpatients
4. Attend codes and rapid responses with the direct assistance of an in-house (24/7) board-certified Emergency Medicine physician
5. Telephone back-up from hospitalist physicians
6. Procedural skills preferred but not required
7. Fully Integrated EPIC electronic medical recording throughout the network
8. Must be motivated to tackle challenges and be able to work independently
9. Build relationships with other practitioners at A.O. Fox Hospital and within Bassett Healthcare Network
10. Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good-faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
11. Sign-on Bonus up to $50,000

Job Qualifications:

1. NP or PA
2. NYS Licensure
3. Previous Inpatient Experience Preferred, but not required
4. DEA Required
