Position Summary

A hospital in Colville, Washington is seeking a qualified Polysomnographer / Sleep Technologist to join its Respiratory Care Services team. Under the supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Care Services, this role is responsible for performing sleep studies and supporting the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. The Sleep Technologist works with patients of all ages and applies established protocols, technical standards, and clinical judgment to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic sleep studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols

  • Monitor and evaluate patients' cardiopulmonary status during sleep procedures

  • Apply appropriate sleep study techniques and equipment to collect accurate data

  • Identify and respond to patient needs and technical issues during studies

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records

  • Exercise initiative in problem-solving and adapting to varying clinical situations

  • Collaborate with respiratory care and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications
  • Eligibility sufficient for licensure/registration

  • One of the following certifications required upon hire:

    • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) BRPT

    • Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) BRPT

    • Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) NBRC

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Respiratory Care or Sleep Study field

    • Experience should provide working knowledge of principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques related to sleep studies and respiratory care
