Salary: $176,800 - 208,000 per year Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen
• Must hold a valid Security Clearance
• Must be willing to commute to Washington DC, 4 days a week
• Must be receptive to a 1099 (Contract) employment option
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity or cloud engineering, with a minimum of 2 years focused on cloud security
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, Google SCC)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Understanding of IAM, encryption, networking, and key management in cloud settings
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or FedRAMP
• Experience with CI/CD security integration and DevSecOps methodologies (preferred)
• Familiarity with container security and Kubernetes hardening (preferred)
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer (preferred)
• Familiarity with zero trust principles and enterprise identity platforms (preferred)

• Design, deploy, and configure security measures across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
• Implement security baselines (CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP) and assist in compliance alignment
• Conduct secure architecture reviews and provide best practices guidance for cloud workloads
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) for security configurations
• Integrate security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, IaC scanning, container security) within CI/CD pipelines
• Assist in constructing automated guardrails and remediation workflows
• Establish centralized logging and monitoring for cloud environments
• Support compliance initiatives by embedding security controls into cloud deployments and preparing audit documentation
• Participate in incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and compliance teams to fulfill security objectives
• Serve as a resource on cloud security best practices for project teams
